About Your Host – Steph
Steph’s love affair with the ocean began in 2012, when she hosted her first kiteboarding group—and never looked back. As a co-owner of Australian watersports stores and Melbourne’s Go Kite school until 2021, she spent years immersed in the salty, sun-kissed world of kiting and surf culture. She also lived in Western Australia in recent years and completely fell in love with its raw, untamed beauty—calling it the wildest coastline in all of Australia.
She co-founded Moon Tours and has guided watersports adventures across some of the world’s most spectacular locations: from the turquoise lagoons of Fiji and Maldives to the wild shores of Mozambique, Mauritius, Zanzibar, PNG, and Sri Lanka.
Being on the water is more than a sport for Steph—it’s her moving meditation. A place to disconnect from the noise, reconnect to herself, and find freedom for her busy mind.
With over 13 years of experience leading global retreats and deep roots in luxury travel, Steph now calls Byron Bay home and leads Thrive Collection—soulful, purpose-led retreats for women ready to explore, expand, and thrive.
Her gift? Creating spaces where you feel safe to stretch, play, and come alive.
Behind the Adventure: Why I Created This WA Road Trip
After more than a decade guiding kiteboarding trips around the world—from the shores of Mozambique to the lagoons of Fiji—I thought I’d seen it all. But living in Western Australia for a year changed everything.
I spent my time based in Jurien Bay, where I quickly fell in love with the rhythm of the land and sea. Still mornings were made for slow starts and nature walks, and like clockwork, the wind would arrive by midday—strong, clean, and perfect. It blew until sunset. I couldn’t believe how consistent it was. Around the island, especially at a spot called The Playground, you’ve got waves on one side and lagoon flatwater on the other. The conditions are magic.
And it’s not just about the kiting. From the sugar-white dunes of Sandy Cape to the reef-protected bays that rival anything I’ve seen in Africa, WA feels like a different world. This coastline mimics the wildness of Mozambique, with abundant marine life, national parks, and untouched beaches that stretch for days.
I created this retreat for people who crave more than just wind. It’s for adventure seekers, curious souls, and those ready to experience a slice of Australia most people overlook. You don’t need to be a hardcore kiter to join—this journey includes cultural immersion, hiking, camping, and once-in-a-lifetime experiences like manta ray swims and skydiving.
What I love most about leading these trips is watching people grow. Seeing someone nail their first downwinder or feel completely at home with strangers by night three is the magic that fuels me. I live for capturing those moments—through the lens and in the heart.
If you’ve never been to WA, this is your invitation. It’s not just a kite trip. It’s a choose-your-own-adventure story, written on red dirt roads and turquoise waves.
If it’s adventure, connection, support, and freedom you’re craving—this is for you.
From Our Travellers
Steph created the perfect blend of freedom and adventure. I felt completely safe and supported while pushing my limits on and off the water. I’ll never forget the laughter, the landscapes, or the people.

I first met Steph in the Maldives and I’ve done three trips with her since. I surf and wing more than I kite these days, but I love all the spots she takes us to. Honestly, I don’t even need to know the plan—I just trust she’s got it covered. Every trip is magic.

Steph’s support on the water was everything. She helped me with a small kite repair so I could keep riding and captured a biz-zillion photos along the way. Her knowledge of equipment and dedication to the sport shines through in every moment.
– Dean M.
Sydney, NSW
I travelled with Steph on a 4x4 kiteboarding trip in Mozambique and it was perfectly planned—just the right balance of kiting, cultural immersion, and chill time. I’ve also joined her in Fiji and Zanzibar, and even visited her in WA last year. Her passion for the sport and bringing good people together is so real.
